Being Nice to Sam

I often bark at Lil Joe’s friends.  I’m not sure why I do it.  Maybe it’s because Lil Joe is always “egging” me on.  He really riles me up and sometimes it just pisses me off.  So when Lil Joe’s  friends come over, I just transfer my annoyance to his friends.  Sam is a nice boy.  They have been friends since preschool.  Sam comes over and I just bark like crazy at that kid.  His only offense – being Lil Joe’s friend.

Last night Sam slept over.  They came home pretty late – about 10:00.  I was too tired to really bark and do my usual stuff.  When they woke up this morning, I hung out in Lil Joe’s room and laid right on top of Sam.  You know what,  he was a very nice guy to let me lay on him like that.  We laid like that for about ten minutes.  I’m sure Sam what the heck was going on.   I will probably always bark at Sam, but it was nice to share some good times with that kid.

Is This Family Great?

As you know I consider myself to be a very lucky dog. I’m lucky because I am incredibly cute and loving. People always want to stop and pet me when they see me. More importantly, I am incredibly lucky because I live with extremely generous humans – almost too generous to a fault. For instance, as I have mentioned in previous posts, I love “loofa toys,” the dog toy. I got my first loofa from Hallie’s good friend with the red hair.

I basically love to chew these toys to a pulp. Whenever I get a new one, I run into the TV room and chew away to my heart’s content. First I rip off its ears and then when I have a little hole started, I pull out all of the white stuffing. By this time I have found the plastic squeaker. Hallie usually stops by to pick up all of these pieces as I chew away. Lately, I have been enjoying playing tug of war with what’s left of these loofas, with B.

You may be asking, and rightly so, “why does this crazy family keep buying Miles a toy that he promptly destroys?” Believe you me, I have been asking myself that question over the months that I have been here. Frankly, I don’t really get it. Why would they keep showering me with these loofas when they know I am just going to eat them? I think that it just gives them pleasure to know that I am happy. Isn’t that the sweetest thought? I don’t really want to disappoint them, so as long as they continue to give me loofas, I’ll continue to chew them up. The family will be happy and so will I. As I have said before, “I am one lucky dog.”

The Red Light

I’m a little disappointed because tomorrow is Daylight Savings Time and I’m all ready to “spring ahead” and change our clocks in anticipation of spring and today it is snowing. Ughhh. A dog cannot catch a break.

Enough of my woes. About a month ago, Hallie brought home a special laptop, which I could not touch, and a projector. She was going to do a power point presentation for her job. In the projector box was this amazing contraption… it was like a stick and out of the end of that stick, was a little red light. I love that red light! All the family has to do is shine it on the floor, the carpet, the walls, the stairs, you name it and I am in heaven. I just love chasing that red light everywhere. It is providing me with endless hours, but mostly minutes, of happiness.

The whole gang around here seems to love helping me to chase the red light. At any given moment, someone will pickup the stick, which is in this cool wooden bowl that My G made, and start shining it all over the place. God, help me, I know it’s just a little red light, but I can’t help myself, I just have to have it. After a few moments of playing with the red light, I’m usually breathing pretty heavily and I can’t keep my tongue in my mouth.

Wait… what’s that? Gotta go!
