Where Does the Time Go?
Alas, where did this month go? It seems like only yesterday that I was celebrating the Jewish New Year and now all of the Jewish holidays (and there are a lot) are over. I’m sure that B is happy about that. As a rabbi, those holidays mean he is one busy guy.
Maybe I haven’t written that much because there really has not been too much to report. One day Hallie took me to visit Suzi, who gives me a bath and cuts my nails. It’s always a fun outing. This time was particularly nice because I was the only dog there and Suzi gave me all of her attention – which you know I love.
That very same day Hallie took me to the doctor. I wasn’t sick or anything, but they nearly made me sick to my stomach. I was so nervous I had an accident in the waiting room. I weigh 23.5 pounds. The doctor said I look very fit and in good health. Then she gave me 3 shots! Ouch! She also took some blood. Hallie was very kind to hold my paw when the doctor did that. I passed all of my tests with flying colors (and I didn’t even study).
The weather is getting colder which can only mean one thing – winter! That means my walks will be shorter. I’m really trying to enjoy myself when I go out for a walk these days. There is so much to sniff and smell. My G and Lil Joe almost never take me for walks anymore. Hallie still takes me for the longest walks. Gotta love that girl. I would never say this to Hallie, but lately B has been particularly nice in the petting and holding department. Together they are a perfect match (for me).
So Much To Say, So Little Time
So much has happened that I don’t know where to begin. Hallie and I were having a grand old time without the boys around. True, she went to work all day, but before she left and when she came home she took me on the greatest walks. One day she took me for a car ride and left me at the vet. She gave them my food, kissed me goodbye and left me there. My Hallie just left me there for three days. It was a nice enough place, but it wasn’t my house and I was very scared and lonely. Then Hallie came back and brought me home. Oh joy!!!
When I was at the vet, I started to have very runny poos. They weren’t as firm as I would like. After we got home, I kept having accidents in the house. I couldn’t control myself. Hallie was really nice about all of this, especially after she had just had all of the carpets cleaned. Because of the clean carpets I really tried to do my business on the floor. She would just clean up my messes with a smile on her face. She never got angry at me. I’m not so sure I would be so kind. Hallie even made me chicken and rice like the humans eat. It was a little bland, but it was supposed to make me feel better. In the end, I had to take some medicine. At first, B, who by now came back from Africa, would try to stuff these little white pills down my mouth. Then Hallie started wrapping the pills in turkey. She thinks that I don’t know what’s going on. I just play along because I do get a piece of turkey twice a day. You know me, I don’t want to disappoint.
So B and Lil Joe came back from Africa. It seems like they had a great time and they brought back lots of presents – none for me, but some very lucky people are getting some nice baskets. If you are interested, you should read B’s blog. It really outlines the whole trip and there are lots of cute pictures of Lil Joe on the blog. Lil Joe also had runny poos and he had to take little white pills to tighten things up. He is able to just swallow those pills, so he doesn’t get any turkey. Poor Lil Joe. My G is still at camp and when I can, I hang out in his room. It’s nice to have them back, I know that Hallie is glad to have them back and if Hallie is happy, then I, of course, am happy.
