I’m Baaack!
Well it has been the longest time since I have written. I actually think that I have S.A.D. (Seasonal Affective Disorder). First, for no reason at all, I was barking at everyone and then lately, I just did not have the energy to write in my blog. And there has been a lot going on lately. There was the good news about UNO, the beagle, winning the Westminster Dog Show. It’s so exciting that one of my extended family has won such a prestigious award. In one of the articles that I read, they described Uno as being a “people’s dog,” just like me. I know I speak for beagles and mixed beagles everywhere when I say “Hats off to you, Uno. You’ve done us proud.”
Then there is the good news that Bark Obama has won 11 primaries in the last month. Tuesday’s elections in Ohio and Texas may be the determining one for him. I know that this probably makes Hallie sad because she has been supporting Hillary. B, on the other hand, seems very happy about this turn of events. I don’t think that he has told Hallie “I told you so.” He’s a pretty upstanding guy. A birthday “shout out” to B, who had his birthday about a week ago. I’m still hoping that they remember my birthday around here. A birthday really seems like a great day for the birthday person and/or dog. I’m ready. I wonder when my birthday is?
In February, we celebrated this day called Valentine’s Day. I didn’t really get it, but true to form, Hallie bought me a red loofa dog, which I promptly chewed to a pulp. Everyone else in the family got candy. They kept saying “will you be my valentine?” Whatever that means!
So, I’m cheering up because when I was surfing the net last night, I realized that daylight savings time is on March 9. In just a week the clocks will spring ahead and the days will be longer and longer. It has just been so cold and snowy that it really gets me down. I can tell that already the days are longer and today it was almost 50 degrees. Hallie took me for a long walk this morning and after I did my business I was ready to walk anywhere she wanted. I just feels great to be outside and not freezing.
I’ve stopped barking at everyone, especially Hallie. Of course I still bark at Lil Joe, but he just asks for it. Everybody has been very understanding about my needs lately. I can tell because they are picking me up more often just so I can hang out on their laps and they have been playing with me more often too. So, life goes on and it’s a good one.
